About Me

Educational History:

I am fortunante to have some of the most impacting teachers as I attend k-12 in the Renwick district. I attended St. Mark's Elementary school then graduated from Andale High School in 2009. I have pursued my dream of being an educator and obtained my Bachelors of Science at Kansas' greatest college--Kansas State University-- in 2013. Go Cats!

I currently teach 5th grade Reading, Writing, Spelling, Social Studies, and will be taking care of AR, Scholastic book orders, and the D.A.R.E program.

Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. in  Elementary Education from K-State!

CPR, First-Aid, and AED Certified

Professional Development:

This summer I attended a Project Based Learning (PBL) professional development opportunity. I gained a welth of information as well as ideas. I aim to include Google's technology into more of our PBL projects, daily work, and curriculum throughout the school year. 

Professional Experience

Current Position:

I am excited to start my third year of teaching. This will be my second year here at Garden Plain. I teach Language Arts, Writing, and Social Studies. Due to my subject areas, I will be helping your student to stay on top of their AR reading. I will host the D.A.R.E. education program this year as well.   

Previous Position:

My first year teaching was at St. Joseph, Ost where I taught second grade. During my preservice teaching experience, I was able to teach 5th grade for a semester, 4th grade for a nine week period, and 3rd, 2nd, and Kindergarten for a semester. 
I knew I was interested in education as I taught swimming lessons for ten summers at my family's pool eight or more hours of the day. I enjoyworking with all ages of children!

Family Information:

My husband, Zach, and I have been married now for three fabulous years. We have two little pipsqueeks whom we love dearly. Ava is our oldest and Lucas is the newest addition to our family. They have no choice but to be close as they are only one year and one day apart in age! They keep us on our toes at all times, but we would not want it any other way.

Personal Information:

Since having Ava, and now Lucas, I'm not sure if I know what "down time" is!! However, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. As far as hobbies, I like to host gatherings, make and bake goodies, being outdoors, playing sports, and fishing.
